Well, what the Brinkerbots are implying is that at some point, you should have magically switched from P1 to P3.

Now who would have given you that signal to switch? Not Brinker. He is too busy playing the role of an energy expert on radio! ;-)

Kirk,

"Of course, someone in P3 grossly under performed the S&P500 in the 1990s"

I think it's inappropriate to be comparing the actual performance of a portfolio comprised 50% of stock and 50% of fixed income funds solely to the S&P500 index performance.

As a measure of P3's performance, I would be comparing the actual P3 Portfolio performance to two appropriately weighted index fund benchmarks - 50% to the VNGD S&P500 Index Fund, and, 50% to an appropriate Index Fixed Income Fund with an average maturity similar to the funds in P3.

>>>Randie Spiegelman, now a VP at Schwab, posted on Brinker's web site just before he was kicked off ..................

Kirk, this info from Randie, even if true, would be about a decade old.

BTW, why was he kicked off? Since I'm a Schwab customer, it would be interesting to know if it was his own behavior that got him the boot.
