Same "peak oil" fallacy in another form. There is nothing we can do to increase supply, so why even bother decreasing the rate of decline?

Well, that is what peak oil means. Increasing supply isn't going to happen. Decreasing the rate of decline, now that is possible. But decline is the future.


I don't know how you get Americans to understand this very basic of concepts. I know they are thinking that our oil shortage is due to the prohibition of offshore drilling and once that starts are problems will be over. Its very frustrating.
