"So why not open up more lands to oil drilling?"

Again, I don't have a problem with it.

Peak oil, however, is real. Unless you for some reason believe there are infinite reserves or whole new continents we haven't found. Now, it very well may be true that there are huge deposits out there, somewhere. Say, under the soon to be gone Arctic icecap. Or Antarctica or Greenland. But that oil ain't going to be easy to get to.

"I have no desire to address straw men arguments on your part, especially given your history of becoming defensive when said straw man tactic is called out."

Cute. It is defensive to ask about where the straw man is. When you wave at something and it is pointed out that, in fact it isn't a straw man, you get huffy.

If you are going to use a term that has real meaning, at least try to use it correctly. It makes you look pretty stupid. Which, I suppose, doesn't bother you given how often you do it.
