but now I'm just taking flax seed oil for my omega-3.

So you are drinking what I used to rub down my M-1 with. That's right, it's other name is linseed oil. :>)

I was just reviewing the BG on Flaxseed. I made a buy last year on five pounds of ground flaxseed for $22 including shipping. I mix it with applesauce and prune juice and take a couple of tablespoons a day. Keep the rest in the freezer. I will buy the whole seed and grind it as I need in next time.

MM,

Flax seed oil is not good as a replacement of fish oil. The most active component of Omega 3 group is EPA. DHA after that. Flax seed oil does not really have any EPA and DHA. Flax seed oil has mainly Alpha Linolenic Acid. Body can convert Alpla Linolenic Acid to EPA and DHA, but the conversion is very inefficient. As a result, if flax seed oil is your only source of EPA, you are not getting much.
