"Right here ..." Which, per usual, isn't a straw man argument at all. It might be a false dichotomy, but even that is questionable. Because I can't come up with alternatives. You might have an argument that the US peak was artificial. However, that argument ignores the fact that the peak was reached well before most of the restrictions were put into place. You certainly can't use that argument for the rest of the world. So, what is it? "Still no mention of the fact that people use the "peak oil" argument to oppose more oil drilling as part of a comprehensive energy plan." No, I haven't. Why should I? There are all kinds of viewpoints out there, why should I address every one? You certainly don't.
