No kidding. "How much do you know about what they are doing and do you think they are close with their breakthrough battery?" That type of material science I know very little about. I do know enough to evaluate the criticisms, though. They have a lot of significant hurdles to overcome. However, they have been doing a decent job addressing them. These enigmatic press releases that pop up every few months show that. Those press releases are almost certainly there as requirements for the funds they have gotten. They have had at least one delay, they should have been shipping already and they aren't. However, delays are to be expected with something as revolutionary as this could be. They do claim to be in pilot production and have been since early last year. However, they have not had a public demonstration of one of those units. That doesn't make me optimistic. OTOH, from the press releases, they have answered all but one of the questions about the technology. It is a big one, though. It is some objective proof that they can reach the relative permittivity claimed. That means, can they actually store what they claim they can? When they originally filed patents, this was the most unbelievable part of their claims. However, since then, other groups have gotten similar results with different materials. So it isn't out of the question. Bottom line, it isn't science fiction. They have yet to prove they can actually produce the things at the price points they claim with the specifications they note, but it isn't inconceivable like it was 7 years ago. Lockheed-Martin is of the opinion that as soon as it is ready EEStor can ramp production quickly. I have been toying with the idea of investing in Zenn as a gamble. If the relative permittivity testing goes well, and I suspect that is the last gate before the production ramp, then things could get hot. The stock is around $5 so a few shares wouldn't cost much. It is a big gamble, however. Because without EEStor, the odds are that Zenn won't go very far.
