Oh yes there is...ask the folks who want to tax big oil. Yeah, greedy politicians who want to steal profits from them. Profits are what a company uses for research and growth. The greed is not in the profits, but in the salary and options of management. The more profit oil companies make the more they have to find oil and even develop alternate energy technology. Yes some oil companies do alternate energy research. A companies profit does not go to management nor the shareholders, it is solely used to operate the company.
