They will not buy an Atom at the same price because it is inferior in performance and laptop Performance/W. If they buy it because they want a cheap lower power longer battery lasting laptop then that that will either take business from the very lower power <20W Core 2s and not 25-35W Turions which are not in the same space to start with, or create new business there. You are just glibly throwing out comments without really thinking about it. Atom's purpose is to spread x86 down in power and cheapness and see off the long-term threat of ARM at the low-end pass. It's nothing to do with AMD. If AMD's mobile business suffers it will be due to 45nm Core 2 ramping.
