Pensions would be absorbed by the government pension guarantee program, but the amounts paid would be slashed, as they are not as lucrative in the automaker payouts.

The bailout, if any is coming, should not exceed the potential pension bath the government would otherwise take.

I am against a bail-out anyway. They all deserve to end up in Chapter 11. GM should not be bailed out on the basis of the Pontiac Aztec alone.
