JF, > The low hanging fruit is efficiency and anyone that isn't ignorant knows it.

Tire pressure is hardly "low-hanging fruit." What, you think the 25% of vehicles on the road with underinflated tires is representing that much wasted oil?

Other efficiency concerns are already being addressed. Big cars and SUVs are sitting on the lot while small cars and hybrids are flying out of the dealer lots. Battery technology is improving and we'll see plug-in hybrids in the next few years. It's having a noticeable impact, but it's not as easy as politicians think.

Why not also explore more of our own oil? If it takes 10 years to get the first drop, so what? How much do you think oil will cost 10 years from now? Think we'll have found a better source of energy before then?

> Listen, the far right tried to stick it to Obama with the "tire guage energy program" bumper sticker BS and Obama essentially said "F you". It's refreshing to see a Dem do that for a change. You may not like it but it gives me a chuckle.

I still respect Obama as a man and a politician. I don't mind if he's fights back, but he ought to prepare for a brawl. The worst thing he can do now is to let the same aura of inevitability tank his campaign as it did with Hillary.
