Those that use 5 to 10W are mostly idle with passive displays. You and others use TDP which is at full power with a performance needing application. I used an active matrix screen which looks a lot better and is usually paired with a higher performance CPU. If you don't need performance, a Geode 300 to 400MHz x86 CPU uses less than a watt including a VGA GPU, memory controller and integrated NB/SB. With a 640x480 passive LCD, it uses less than 2 watts total.
