a MUST read - how the Fed plans to engage in a major inflation of the money supply without having to change the FF rate target - the method: they will start paying interest on reserves, thereby removing the opportunity cost involved in keeping reserves at the central bank. this will allow for a major expansion of free bank reserves, a.k.a. inflation as far as the eye can see:
