"Now, there's a mystery aspect to it, eh? Why do we even have geologists, hydrologists and other scientists in the Department of Energy? Maybe we should fire them all and replace them with talking heads playing with Ouija boards?!"

No, but you decided to greatly understate the amount of oil that would be coming from Anwar and OCS by generally accepted estimates. Most believed we'd be getting 1 mil brls/day by now out of Anwar so if the figures of 3-5 hundred k barrels is correct from 0CS that is 1.2-1.5 million barrels a day, One hell of a lot more energy than wind solar and ethanol put together for the forseeable future.

What do you have against nuclear power?

What do you have against exploiting tar sands.
