Thank God. We maybe are closing one of the worst chapters in US History. Hardly. We have removed a brutal dictator freeing 20 million people from tyranny, placed a democracy in the center of the Middle East which will pay dividends for years to come, decimated AQ, eliminated the need to stand watch over an aggressive dictatorship into perpetuity. The loss of American lives is tragic, but Americans have never been a people to walk away from such responsibility. If you want to thank God, thank God for the integrity, leadership, and courage of George W. Bush, who made it happen.

Two Iraqi officials say the U.S. and Iraq are close to a deal under which all American combat troops would leave by October 2010 with remaining U.S. forces gone about three years later. Thank God. We maybe are closing one of the worst chapters in US History. Of course we will be paying for it for the rest of our lives. I'll tell you....if we have another idiot president try to pull a stunt like that again, I won't be so passive in my objection as I was in 2003.
