I think everyone, other than Obama, has acknowledged that no one thing will "solve" the problem (Obama seems to think 1,000,000 electric vehicles will).

McCain's position is probably more cogent than any -- drill, inflate your tires, get tuneups, build electric cars, add N-plants, hydro where practical, some funding for clean coal, even some funding for solar. As we are now seeing, wind is now going mainstream with Pickens' doings.

It isn't as though we're going to wake up one day and the problem is solved by some newly developed technology. Electric vehicles can make a big contribution, but Obama's proposal to pay $7,000 of the cost of them is utterly stupid, and nothing more than pandering.
