If you can make that statement, you must agree that the peak oil curve is correct (although I don't know why I ask YOU this).

So, what does that have to do with anything.

(I don't have to agree it is "correct", but you can define "peak oil" in such a way such that it is. If, for example, Shell is correct that they can profitably produce fuel from oil shale -- and they seem to be convinced they can -- then the definition of "peak oil" would have little meaning unless you factored in oil from shale)

Still, I don't understand why it is you're arguing this point. It doesn't change any aspect of the argument, at all. We still need all the oil that can be produced, probably forever.
