Where i live (Eggemoggin Reach google points to where live--there is only ONE Eggemoggin Reach:) is a vacation center from Memorial Day to all the way into October and i can tell you those that make their money on the tourist trade are IN pain --worst summer in anyone's memory. Lobstermen are getting killed as price of Lobster has cratered for lack of demand, this a MAJOR ECONOMIC INDICATOR, as Lobstermen have been making 6 figure income for some years now. What happened?? Maine Lobster(New England Lobster) is viewed as a luxury food. That the demand has dived we know people are feeling financial pain. Lobster hit 5 dollars a pound last i noted, for lobstermen, this is death given their boats(which new, now cost about 500k) run on Diesel Fuel.
