Jim: "It appears that Neocon is an overused term. Way to wide in it's scope."

I do not think that is true. The "Chicago Boys' (neo cons) have been shaping economic policy in the US for 30 years.

It has been wall street instead of mainstreet running the country, with a bankrupt economic policy whihc favors "pure capitalism" and minimal government.

In the last 30 years the unions have all but been destroyed, deregulation has been rampant and the New Deal torn to shreds. And the last eight have been the worst.

The neo cons mantra is PRIVATIZE everything. They have no understanding of socieities responsibilities e.g. prisons. If a society puts a person in prison then spciety has to be responsible for that person. it is crazy to privatize prisons.

REad the new book on the 'black prison chain gangs' that replaced slavery 80 years after the civil war where blacks were arrested illegally and sold to plantatioon owners.

Reagan, and both bush's have done everything in their power to replace the public sector with the private sector over the last 30 years.

That is the NEO CON's philosophy! And you can see where it got us.
