Some more explanations as I was asked on the Clown tread If Russia takes over big swats from Georgia or annexes Georgia which is exactly what they desire, then they will yield control over the new railroad from Baku to Turkey and EU and also over the present oil pipeline of BP which is anticipated to reach capacity of 2.5 bb per day and the competing NG pipeline Nabbuco which links Turkmenistan Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan to Europe and exports crude oil and LG to other countries like Korea, Japan etc. There is no other way due to geographic limitation (Iran to the south Russia to the north and very high mountain ridges in Turkey and the problematic Armenians which are at war with Azerbaijan) In addition there will be no easy access to N. Iraq and no oversight over Iran trough Georgia and Azerbaijan - as Turkey is not exactly cooperative in those matters due to their war with the Kurds in S. East Turkey. There is very high strategic value to install intelligence gathering military installation in the mountains in Georgia / Azerbaijan for surveillance of Southern Russia and Iran / Iraq regions and this is an issue that Russia also adamantly opposes. (mountain ridges are up to 2,900 meters high there (over 8500 feet) nice for listening devices and radars of all kinds and less than 500 to 600 miles form Bagdad and Teheran Hope it helps

Georgia is the country where the riches of Russia will be decided and the ability of Russia to control Western Europe. Unfortunate Europe and the EU are a bunch of sysy's a$$ kissers with big mouths but no guts to do something about Russia or any one else affecting their standard of living EU and the US want Georgia to be free of Russian influence as it is the only corridor to Asian riches to flow to the west (without) under the control of the criminals sitting in (Moscow) Washington DC . I do not know how many are familiar with the (Russian)Goldman Sachs/Federal Reserve puppets Mafia but it is a direct offshoot of the same type of people who (run) run in the (past) present the Gulags under (Stalin) Bush et al and now they run (Russia) the West. Very few are aware of the dangers that (Russia) the US posses to (Europe) the world in their mafia type of dealings in everything, where like in (China) Washington DC the value of life is nothing and people can be (murdered) renditioned at the tip of a hat. No wonder life expectancy (there) everywhere is very low, and (no one even) the neocons (heard of) intend to control the many small nations in Asia where most natural resources Russia is exploiting. IN a nutshell they are the worst imperialist regime enriching the upper echelon to unbelievable riches who see it as "an obligation" to destroy their opponents by simple means of plain murder. Georgia is the life line of raw material and energy from Asia to the west and (Russia)the neocons with various tactics are trying hard to (destroy) control this country and take over so that (Europe) the world will be under (Russian) the neocon control. Georgia and Azerbaijan are of major importance to the free world - unfortunate they are small countries on a vital corridor of transport It is a public board so I will restrain form writing all I know. The battle for the world's resources is joined, n'est-ce pas?
