"Yeah, me too. Is that what he's been telling Elizabeth? Pathetic."

For some reason it reminded me of another famous scene, this one in an actual movie, "Pretty Woman," where not kissing the customer was an important line not to cross., as discussed between 'the girls'. Had a major 'Huh?' moment of a similar sort. Who buys this shit.

'But I didn't love her' is a line straight out of "Days of Our Lives". And I'm even really familiar with the mental games one can play to rationalize doing what one wants to do. And somewhat sympathetic. However, trotting that one out should have been too embarrassing to contemplate.

And this is the real John Edwards. Successful and influential pillar of the nation. Had an affair. Gave her a nice job with a nice salary paid with other peoples money, despite lack of qualifications, apparently. Probably father child. Dieing wife in the background. Still lying, but he didn't kiss her on the lips. Oh well. Some days I just don't get it. Or do get it, and wish I didn't.
