If we start cutting the growth in spending now, no actual cuts will be necessary. If we wait for many years, than actual drastic cuts might be necessary, at the very least slight cuts would be necessary, which would be much more harmful to social stability than any possible harm from slowing down growth now.

Social Security is not set up to give benefits based on income, neither is Medicaid.

That might be true, but its entirely irrelevant. Nothing I'm talking about vaguely resembles giving dogs the crumbs from the table.
