does Obama take away the $500,000 deduction against capital gains if you sell your home? he wants to cancel bush tax cuts, raise non taxable income for elderly to $50,000. i have yet to confirm other than emails going around that people lose the capital gain deduction for people selling their homes. i think $250,000 if single. That is a big hit for elderly and those selling to move up in housing etc vs his proposed one time tax credit or give back to help heat your homes or for high gasoline.
