When NATO bombed peaceful Serbian cities - over strongest objections from Russia - on behalf of Kosovo Liberation Army, that was the end. I think you are right, SK. Long term, the demographics are putting them out of business. They are going to run out of people at their reproduction rate. Their population has dropped from 148.5 Mil in 1992 to 142 today. The highest suicide rate in the world, 32/100K. Which means they have the lowest amount of happiness. Fertility rate is 1.4, among the lowest. The UN is predicting they will be under 100 million by 2050. [wikipedia] Short term, they will cause trouble along their borders. And why not? We keep taunting them there. We won't let them have any say in our neighbor's policies, but we are prodding theirs. Dumb. Anybody who thinks we are "pure," remember the Cuban missile crisis and the Zimmerman telegram.

If Russians did not support Murderous Milosevic regime Serbia we would not be forced to Bomb "peaceful" Serbian cities. Without Russian “support" there would be much more peaceful dissociation of Yugoslavia.
