The McCain team has realized that "The One" has a very thin skin and can not stand any kind of jokes or criticism. I think there is great value in showing the country how thin skinned Obama is and how he reacts when things don't follow a predictable scrip. If he becomes president he will not have 4 years of a predictable script - he will have to do more than just read words on a teleprompter. IMO, he is not ready to lead and the McCain team wants others to come to the same conclusion.
