Interesting comments on the Edwards affair: ......... Rumor has it that it was Ms. Hunter who called it off because during sex John would call out his own name. Word also has it that he was on the bottom - so that he could look at himself in the mirror on the ceiling. ..... John & Liz gave away their privacy as soon as they started using their family and marriage as selling points for his two failed presidential bids. They didn't care about privacy when they were telling the story of their meeting, or their Wendy's anniversary dinner, or letting everyone in on Liz's battles with cancer. You can't suddenly decide that in this matter your privacy should be respected, especially when you live the rest of your life in the public eye. Besides, this is a direct look at the character of a man who was angling to become either Obama's running mate or AG in an Obama administration. As much as people like to take any misstatement of the Bush administration and turn it into a "lie", how can Edwards expect to escape scrutiny of the numerous lies that both he and Liz repeatedly told about this subject? If you will lie little, you'll lie big...and that is a matter that voters deserve to know about when it comes to ambitious politicians. .... "John made a terrible mistake in 2006. About two years ago, I screwed up my math on my check book and forgot to carry the one or whatever, and a week later bounced a check. That was a mistake that I had to pay for. $35, I believe it was. Going into a bar, chatting up a blonde, deciding to take her to your room, not wearing a condom, and then constantly lying about it while also calling your accusers liars, is absolutely not a "mistake". Making your wife, who is battling cancer, also lie about it so you can try to be President and "uphold the Constitution", is absolutely not a "mistake". Having the Treasurer of your campaign lie and pretend that he paid off this bar hussy with his "own money" and not campaign funds is absolutely not a "mistake", it is criminal. To me, the worst is this: Having an illegitimate child with a bar hussy because you were too lazy to wear (or insist on) protection, then continuing to lie and say this innocent child is not yours, is absolutely not a mistake, it is a criminal. If the child is not yours, why were you at her hotel room two weeks ago at 2:40 AM? Adulterous men only visit their ex-sex-partners for three reasons: 1) to pay them off, 2) to make arrangements for the care of the child that was a result of the adultery, or 3) more sex. They do not visit socially. Elizabeth, darling, your husband didn't make a mistake. He betrayed you and your children. He turned his back on you in your time of need.
