I absolutely don't see this as an issue involving the US electoral cycle.

Of course it involves the election cycle.

Just as in 2004, the only chance the GOP candidate has is if we have an armed conflict underway.

Since the GOP is handling the levers, do you think there is any possible way we won't be in a shooting war in November?
