Yes, this is the general problem I was referencing. At some point I had it explained to me by someone whose opinion I trust. Who that was, I couldn't tell you. Like a lot of things, I form an opinion based on information, then retain the opinion without retaining the info, especially if it's in an subject about which I'm personally not well informed.

I guess the take away from my post, if there is one, is that there seem to be factors other than the quality of health care provided involved in compiling lists like the one you sited.

To get a fair comparison one would have to consider levels of pre-natal care accessed (not available, but used), along with how different countries handle premature or low birth weight kids, and probably other factors which I don't recall.
