Germany, at least since the '60s has felt more affiliated with the peace loving East (Soviet Union and even more so, 'communist cleansed' Russia) as opposed to those aggressive cowboy style Americans and their leaders.

A fact, which may get some revived buoyancy as their dependence on the US gas line exports rapidly increase.

A strong leadership close to dictatorial qualities never lost its attraction to the average German.

Who says that will happen? Russia has owned both Georgia and Ukraine for centuries.
