You have to wonder what Georgian leaders were thinking when they initiated their attack on Russian troops.

It's inexplicable. Can you imagine Cuba attacking the US Naval base in Guantanamo Bay, and expecting everything to be just business as usual?

An ignorant analogy.
Ossetia was a self governing autonomous zone, and NOT under the authority of Georgia.
But adjust the facts as you wish, like all braindead americans.

Are you one these bubbleheads that think Iraq was involved in the attack of 9/11/01??

The true intensions are unclear at the moment, and I would
not make Mr. Putin the World's most democratic leader <g>.
We'll see.

A couple of facts lost in Western media are

1. These folks down there are indeed prone to do genocide,
it happened many times in the past
2. Russia did not start it, Georgia did

Maybe the intensions just are what they claim them to be?
Quite possible, IMHO, but we'll have to see how the conflict
progresses.

I have no clue about the new guy Medvedev (the Russian President).
Do you?

The intensions of Mr. Shrub in Iraq, on the other hand,
are quite clear. It's not freedom, it's the oil business,
and it WAS an invasion of a sovereign country, and an
execution of its president...
