We need a Kennedy who faced Russian in Cuba and Berlin with the risk of a new world war – or Reagan who drained Russia resources until their collapse.

Kennedy ... wasn't the American banking mafia gang involved in his death ? Russians nowadays see Reagan had cheated them. It would be too late for the west to test Russian military might right now.

Wonder if Bush has the guts get on the plane and fly NOW to Tbilisi for consultation and solidarity

no, Bush was in Beijing watching Olympic games and up closed with the spectacles. But i was afraid he was inviting conflict if someone did personal harm to him accidentally. If he were in Georgia, there could be some friendly fire which is so common in Iraq and Afgan.

Russia is a relative small country between Ukraine the Baltic States, Belarus and Ural Mountains the rest of Russia was conquered and for most of the years laid to waste (this is why they sold Alaska to the US) until they discovered the huge natural resources in Siberia.

Waste or not, we have no idea. To the Tsar back then, Alaska had no military strategic value. And also, Russia and US were quite friendly.

Population of Russia is fewer that of Indonesia or Brazil or about that of Nigeria

Russia need to grow their population after the collapse of USSR. They lack farmland up north and do not trust the quality of imports. Like Elmat said, they want to cut chances of trojan horse invasion in which the west is now good at with their high tech stuff.
