Speculation" as it has been used by you on the Left in this context means gambling on future price increases in order to make a profit.

A hedge is a totally different transaction, one which is designed to protect a company from future price increases in the underlying and therefore to mitigate future expense by paying a premium today.

First, "by you" doesn't apply since I've never posted on the subject.

Second, if you don't think a hedge is a speculation then you might start with some basic education.

Third, there was a LOT of speculation in the oil markets, every reputable business paper has reported on the money going into commodities.

Finally, if the market wasn't influenced by speculation, then it couldn't have come down on the Bush change as you claim, because that didn't influence todays supply/demand by one drop.

So you're wrong in like three different ways... you are tripping all over yourself trying to create a case where no case exists, and getting caught in lies.

Give it up... it's boring just like all your posts.
