In iraq there was an international coalition, albeit not impressive and the UN was at least tried. Israel and Lebanon as in bombing Beirut might be a better comparision, assuming the russians were actually attacked by georgia as they claim. Maybe this whole episode will moderate putin and get him to look toward global intersts rather than parochial. Could there be a split between putin and medvidid or is that just good cop/bad cop shit?
