Yes to both. They depend on ambushes to drag down larger prey. Preferably near water so they can use that to their advantage. Other than that, if you can avoid their tail and keep them from getting their jaws on you, you have a win.


In the article I posted, it said they pull big prey into the water and do what's called a death spiral in order to kill and tear up the bigger prey. Sure sounds like fun.......NOT.
