The stock market crash was a result of Fed and Congressional mismanagement, not the cause of the depression.

Congress raised taxes and discouraged trade. The fed sucked liquidity out of the system. The economy crashed. The market predicted it.

The fact that its easy to blame someone, doesn't mean they shouldn't be blamed.

I would not say they deserved all the blame, but they where part of it. They where a big part of causing the depression to happen, then the economic policies put in place where a bigger part of why it lasted so long.
