There was a report last night that the Chinese gov built walls in front of any area of peiking they deemed not perfect enough for tourists or TV cameras. A section of store owners complained the wall has hurt their businesses---conclusion of the piece was that the Chinese economy is paying a high price for their global extravaganza. Drivers were told to use their cars every other day, and many factories are closed in an attempt to limit air pollution.
