you can get leg cramps from walking if you're not used to it. Depends on changes in distance. Happens to me every time in NYC.

You might consider leg stretches if you don't do them already. I had pretty bad leg pain but haven't had nearly as much since I started stretching out my legs before I get up. Just lay on my back and put one leg at a time straight up, then pull my toes toward me while keeping the leg straight.
