Z, > Nope. They're covering it vigorously and eagerly now. They just waited till they had more to go on than the National Enquirer. The traditional media can be pretty irresponsible, but even they can't count the Enquirer as their main source for a story.

It's all too convenient to say, "Oh, it was just the National Enquirer. We couldn't find other sources to corroborate." It was obvious the mainstream media tried their very best to deny this controversy even existed.

The MSM probably weren't given the opportunity initially. The GOPer who leaked the story to the Enquirer was paid. Typically, the MSM won't pay for a story. Meanwhile, the Enquirer had been tracking the story for nearly a year trying to confirm it. If the Nat. Enquirer is being that cautious, what do you think MSM is going to do? That didn't stop reporters from asking but Edwards was adamant that he wasn't guilty. So they left it alone. When the photos became known, that's when the Charlotte Observer made its move and started to be more aggressive. However, I don't blame the media for being cautious. The Nat. Enquirer has a good reputation but its not impeccable.....and sometimes gets it wrong.
