Agreed they need to participate in defense of their own freedom. This crisis could be the start of that process. Sarkozy, as Pres of the EU, will broker the deal in the Caucaisus.

You've got points here. It would be interesting, to say the least, to see just exactly what the EU would do if left to deal with Georgia on their own. I expected Zarkozy to step up and have a roll.....anyone heard from the Germans?
