1 - There where any number of "panics", "severe recessions", and economic downturns called by different names, that where much shorter than the Great Depression.

Pointing out one case of what might be a longer depression, doesn't indicate that the great depression was not unusually long, or make an argument against the idea that government intervention in the economy made in longer.

2 - The Long Depression, wasn't consistently a depression. There where periods of strong economic growth in the US during that time frame.

3 - From the Wikipedia article you link to - "Like the Great Depression, the Long Depression saw many nations of the world resort to protectionism to shore up faltering industries."

In other words government meddling in the economy helped make things worse.
