Better to do away with catalytic converters and run lean burn engines which would reduce carbon monoxide further. Improve fuel formulations to reduce exhaust muck, rather than clean up "dirty" fuel in the exhaust system. Methane for example burns nice and cleanly. Not that you can put methane in petrol. But some butane will squeeze in. Toluene and muck don't burn cleanly [in many conditions]. Mqurice
