I think you will see a few models on the market in less time than that. But I don't think you will ever see any serious numbers sold. Even if you get 400 mile range you won't be able to take a trip past 200 miles away, and then you will need to be light on the juice pedal. Wait till these people have to replace the batteries, and you won't see any electric cars on the market. It cost less to rebuild a conventional gas engine, and it lasts longer. Fuel cell is the ticket, that is once we have fusion reactors online. JET now has one that will be able to generate electricity. Interesting reading, I don't have the link but google JET and fusion and you should find it.
