What a question. It's a living fruit- it has all sorts of things in it that are beneficial (which you can look up on line)- and many things we probably haven't even found yet. Fruits evolved to attract animals like us to eat them- they have had millions and millions of years to evolve in to our best friends- I don't think processed sugar has been around that long, nor is it alive and able to evolve in to something that won't kill us. And vitamin C is fine, but all the research I've read says that vitamins from food are "different" and better- that's probably because they work in complex ways we don't understand yet, and there are other factors in the food we haven't unidentified, or that there are interactions going on we don't understand.

That's how I see it.
