My understanding is that Russian soldiers who were captured by the Germans were considered to have become collaborators with the Germans. I have a Russian friend whose grandfather (still living) was lucky enough to get wounded, not captured, and was therefore treated well. He became a professor of history.

A news feed says the Russians aren't giving Georgia back. Its theirs again.
