Koan there are small differences between 1938 and today no matter of the arms available for self destruction.

So lets agree that we differ on this point

Secondly please let me know where is India's sphere of influence for example and please explain why Russia who is 0.12 of India population should be treated differently same I can say about Indonesia with twice the population of Russia

From an economic point of view how big is Japan sphere of influence or Germany or the UK or Brazil.

What in heaven has Russia except a history of brutal aggression that the world should relate to this 140 million pop. strong very highly corrupt country with a GDP of 1.3 trillion which is smaller than Italy GDP for example a status of power and sphere of influence above that of Italy for example??

So following this venue why at all give Russia a bigger "sphere of influence" that they deserve? Like within their borders.

The fact that Siberia is still under Russian control is a big enough sin of the world at large - where are the rights of those many nations living there and where Russia plunders their natural resources on a daily basis??

Ask the ordinary people in Ukraine or Kazakhstan etc. what they think of Russia if under the Tsarist regime, Communist Regime and now – then you will understand how wrong it is the way the Georgia crisis was handled to date!!

Relating to Russia as a world power vis a vis the US is wrong and there are ways that I am not privy to that can cut Russia's aspiration and should be done quickly.

Russia must be forced by all means into understanding the new world order and that they are way out of sync in a serious way when compared let say to even the old EU not to mention the new extended EU

Keep in mind and for adequate comparison Russia as a world power is less in GDP contribution to the world than France Germany Italy each country alone by itself and about the CEE countries counted together. Who is Russia leadership now except of a assembly of tugs who where former KGB types?

To stick to the old world order which took so many wars and economic hardship and throw away the achievements of the last generation is utterly wrong.

I would not offer my specific advice about how to bring Russia back to its senses & imaginary size and eliminate their aspiration of grand mania as it would be very amateurish.

There are enough people employed to do just that and trust me there are the solutions available that this whole process can be resolved quite quickly - the problem we have in front of us is lack of cohesion in the US and also in Europe which Putin knows and exploits it to his benefit.

And in summary if we get now to the extreme that military force is needed to resolve once and for all the issue of Russia expectation to return to their cold war influence over their neighbors then better do it now before it would be to late and much more expensive and much more lives will be at stake!! Teaching Russia now where they are and that if they want integration in the world economy and social fabric will also resolve the Iran issue as Iran can not achieve what they want with out outside help which in this case is Russian help. Iran is now one of the first beneficiaries of what happen in Georgia and the proven impotent conduct of the EU – Iran will now “piss” on all the world knowing nothing will happen to them.

There are several old saying in Romania about Ivan which I can not translate properly but in a nutshell the conclusion is that Ivan must be kept forcefully within his natural boundaries. History does not repeat itself it only rimes

In an educational process slapping your child is very bad but some times it is needed if he does not get it!! after all it is human nature

Koan - more similarities to 1938 - about that time, there was a new movement of young Germans - most recently and today under Putin there is a new movement in Russia - also better read the links and you will understand the danger that the Putin Gang posses to the world.

At one event for political education in summer 2006, the Kremlin advisor Gleb Pavlovskii told members of Nashi that they "lacked brutality": "you must be prepared", he went on, "to break up fascist demonstrations and prevent with force any attempt to overthrow the constitution".[10]

The National Bolsheviks have accused Nashi of leading attacks on their members, including one in Moscow in August 2005.[11] Liberal youth leader Ilya Yashin has also denounced Nashi as a cover for 'storm brigades' that will use violence against democratic organizations and claimed that their formation is only part of Putin's fear of losing power in a manner similar to the Orange Revolution of Ukraine.[12] One young National Bolshevik, Roman Sadykhov, joined Nashi's sister organisation Rumol (Rus Molodaya, or Young Russia) in order to investigate its activities. He claimed that Rumol had formed a group of 'Ultras' to conduct street battles against members of the opposition.[13] Their training included the construction of smoke bombs. He secretly taped meetings he had attended. At one of the meetings, senior Kremlin staffer Vladislav Surkov said that he found the training for street combat 'terrifically interesting'.[14]

On June 26, 2005, with media present, President Vladimir Putin met with a group of Nashi members at his residence in Zavidovo, Tver Oblast. He expressed his support for the group, described as "awestruck" by his presence.[25]

In 2006 members of Nashi conducted a campaign against the British ambassador in Moscow, Tony Brenton, as he attended an opposition conference called Another Russia on July 11-12. He attended along with Putin opposition leaders such as Eduard Limonov, leader of the National Bolsheviks.[28] Unnamed British officials were reported to suspect that this campaign had been co-ordinated by elements within the Russian government as a punishment for the speech given by the ambassador.[29]

There is a nasty smell of Weimar in Russia nowadays. All the talk is of Russia’s need to reassert itself and show the world it is still a great power. On the streets, skinheads and racists beat up foreigners and attack dark-skinned Caucasians. Gays are attacked, liberals jeered and opposition protests forcibly disbanded. At home there is growing intolerance of anything except the government line, while abroad President Putin picks quarrels with his neighbours and threatens his erstwhile Western allies.

Is Putin leading Russia into fascism?
