I have been attempting for several years (with no detectable positive effect) to demonstrate how the modern plague of global society is extremism. Everyday, as I open my eyes, I see new evidence of that phenomenon, not being limited to any particular demographic. Extremists inevitably ensnare innocents along with the guilty or through exaggeration and sensationalism allege things which are in particular cases false. When you do that, decent people are bound to rise in justifiable and noble defense of the innocent and against injustice. Yet as large groups of people rise up they inevitably find in their midsts extremists of their own kind. And the internal extremism seems quite contagious. Ii should be obvious to everyone but extremists never get it. When you become a perpetrator of falsehoods and injustice, you are a bad guy (Sorry but that’s just rational fact) and by inference the person or group you are attacking are good guys. Its not necessarily true that they are the good guys by practical measures of goodness but we are very limited in our ability to make such judgments, so we conclude, ‘whoever the bad guys are attacking those attackees are good guys’. As modern day warrior societies are on the rise around the globe you may certainly find cause for fear. Radical Islam, The waking Russian confederations with alliances to China and surrounding satellites. Our own nation has embraced a military industrial economy. In Asia there are currently 50 million extra young men coming on line; so far, their role hasn't even been identified in global affairs. African societies are recruiting and arming. Our South American neighbors are rattling sabers. Courage in the face of fear, all by it self, is a measure of success in warrior societies. The nobility of sacrifice, even the ultimate sacrifice, rises above any humanistic cause, which may be obscure or even lost to the warrior ... and where common cause has meaning only within the ranks. The next half decade will be full of awe and splendor for those of you who admire a magnificent display of fire works. On the other hand, fear of not being found worthy when judged on the basis of charity, truth, justice, liberty, mercy, kindness, and compassion toward others in spite of differences will not be a problem in worldly affairs; so you may not be too worried about that.
