A couple of days ago I visited the Grant-Kohrs National Historic Site in Montana. It is a preserved cattle ranch started by Johnny Grant in about 1861 and sold to Conrad Kohrs in 1866. Kohrs became one of the biggest cattle ranchers in Montana.

Teddy Roosevelt is said to have met with Kohrs in Butte Montana. While president, he appointed Kohrs to be Ambassador to Columbia (I may have the country wrong).

Kohrs probably served as a model for big cattle ranchers in many western movies, such as "The Missouri Breaks." However, he was unfairly depicted.
