That would be incorrect his blog is sanction by Intel and it is well worth your read if you would like a 360 view of this.

As I read his statement, it made Intel sound quite good. He said that Intel had provided both standards compliant hardware and a workaround to address deficiencies in the standard.

He made it clear that their hardware actually did do reasonable ( - my term, not his, he implied excellent) performance, but complying with the standard forced them to default to a lower performing "option", in some cases.
