The New Deal of the 1930's may be understandable, but the "Newer Deal" of the 21st century is a path toward stagnation at best. Rather than harness the power of the individual and private entrepreneurship, we'll be relying more and more on huge government bureaucracies to fulfill our basic needs.

When they can do it more efficiently than the private sector, then there is nothing wrong with that. When the private sector does it more efficiently, that's great.

All paid for by the most upwardly-mobile of citizens (cause you know, the rich will never raise taxes on themselves).

They don't have to, there are more of us than them. We'll do it for them.

Poor Ten, so continually worried about gummint reaching into HIS pocket! Don't you remember the 90's with the "high" taxes that none of us gave a damn about, because we were doing so well?

You mean the Republicans won't raise taxes on themselves. Yes, we've been saying that for years.
