Oilmen in Congress is a problem, but I think the bigger problem is the GOP putting two oil men in the #1 and #2 spot in the country. The lasting damage of the past 8 years will hurt our country for the next generation, or more. The wars, the pro-oil policies, the anti-everything else policies. The worst thing we could see now as a nation would be oil dropping below $3/gallon, thus starting a reversal of the shift in people's thinking. It took quite a while after the oil embargo before gas mileage dropped out of auto ads on TV and was replace eventually by a non-stop push to our zeal for 0-60MPH is 4.0 seconds with our overcompensating SUV engines.
