Hey you are the one who brought up the subject of Denmark and its $10 gasoline. If you don't want people to think you're in favor of $10 gasoline don't praise countries which tax it to that level.

As for discussing what Denmark is doing:

1) Their country is their business.
2) Their population seems to accept socialistic ideas and let's share the pain - lets ride bikes to work in rainstorms, etc. They can have it. Thats for the birds and the Danes as far as I'm concerned.
3) Denmark is a very small country - we're a big country.
4) Taxing gasoline and rebating a lot of the money back:

a - to the extent rebates and high gasoline taxes are perfectly matched for each individual consumer, you accomplish little

b - to the extent they aren't perfectly matched, you create severe hardships on some people and advantage others.
